ABYSS Index vs Into The Cryptoverse: the transparent, free alternative
Benjamin Cowen's Into The Cryptoverse popularized the “Risk Metric” (0–1) to place Bitcoin in its cycle. It's excellent work, but paid and with a closed formula. The ABYSS Risk applies the same idea —a 0-to-1 cycle risk— with an open, versioned formula, across 22 assets, free at its core, and with the data free to cite and redistribute.

BTC cycle risk (0–1) at the real market turns, taken from OUR own historical series.
Near tops risk was high; near bottoms, low. In-sample scale (uses the full history); read it alongside other indicators, not as a crystal ball.
In fairness
Where Into The Cryptoverse is better: it has a huge community, daily video analysis and years of track record and macro education that a data site doesn't replace. If you want an educational channel with a human voice, it's a great option. ABYSS is the transparent, free data layer you can cite and automate.
Frequently asked questions
Is the ABYSS Risk the same as Cowen's Risk Metric?
They share the idea: a 0-to-1 number placing the asset in its cycle (0 = floor, 1 = top), based on price's distance to its long moving average. ABYSS's implementation and constants are our own and are published; it is not the same indicator nor affiliated with Into The Cryptoverse.
Is it really free?
The core —ABYSS Score, ABYSS Risk for 22 assets, on-chain and charts— is free and will stay free. The optional Pro plan adds personal alerts, an unlimited copilot and more.
Is this financial advice?
